DAVID SYLVIAN - Orpheus
45 rpm single
I wrestle with an outlook on life
That shifts between darkness and shadowy light
I struggle with words for fear that they’ll hear
But Orpheus sleeps on his back still dead to the world

Ok, Admitted. I have a new girlcrush on Ainlie Wills. But she and her band surely must be the coolest kids around, mustn’t they?
Ainslie Wills - Fighting Kind

EARGASM OF THE DAY: Ainslie Wills - Fighting Kind
You know that feeling you get when you hear an amazing song for the first time and it completely devours your senses; to the point where the rest of the world dissipates and your sole mission is to find out who/what/when/where/why/how? Well that is exactly how my journey began 2 years ago with Melbourne songstress Ainslie Wills. I remember the day clearly… I was running late to uni when her musical marvel, Wide Load, took over the radio and I ended up skipping my class entirely to hunt down the seductive sounds responsible for my multiple-morning-eargasm. Since then her debut EP Somebody For Everyone has received a vigorous workout on my ipod; but I always wondered why the rest of the world hadn’t caught up? With chops like hers, she should be up there with the likes of Kimbra and Sarah Blasko at least! I personally think her unique blend of indie soul is Flo Mo good.I really hope new single, Fighting Kind sees Miss Wills finally getting the recognition she deserves. Infused with soulful hand claps, scintillating guitar hooks and a subtle slew of percussion’s; collectively enhanced by THAT sultry voice, Fighting Kind proves that Ainslie Wills is no one hit wonder. Her first full length feature will grace our presence in May. I pray this means a Sydney tour is on the cards. I have an inkling that hearing that voice in the flesh would drive my ears to kama sutra style satisfaction.
