“The form of beauty” is a term that goes back to Plato’s philosophy of the forms. He believed that humans can only perceive reality in appearances, reflections and opinions. But beyond these exists something eternal: An intelligible world of true knowledge that follows a divine principle - the ultimate form itself. We can never see “this perfect blueprint” as we cannot seperate ourselves from the filter of limited perception - but we can feel an elevation when we come across something that is closer to the essence.
